Austen is married and a proud father of two, and his family is his sanctuary, a source of strength and inspiration. However, his pivotal moment came during a call to a suicide attempt, where he experienced firsthand the profound impact of mental health challenges. This moment led him to seek help and realize the healing power of communication and support, igniting a passion for ensuring that no member of the fire department or their families ever feel alone in their struggles.
